Teaching methods In our proposed language courses the lecturers use the best examples of didactic-methodology such as the communicative method, grammatical-translation methods, bi-lingual methods and audio-lingual methods. The primary principle is the fact that the student is the most important factor in all lessons and indeed in the whole course. Teaching methods, materials and work schedules employed by us are governed by one aim - to maximize the use of the students' time and oupled with this is that the main pressure is placed on developing the skills needed to communicate in a foreign language - right from the first lesson. For that reason, our students are significantly involved in pair work or group work where they exchange information practicing the newly learnt skills. Students only use reputable publishers' textbooks. However, in addition, lecturers also prepare extra materials and exercises for students. Lessons are in groups. Optimal numbers depend on the type of course. Average sized groups are between 4-6 students and bearing in mind the students' interests are never over 10. Our lecturers are continually upgrading their qualifications. This, together with continuous methodological monitoring ensures high teaching standards. |
